This sounded like a great drink to me. As far as I'm concerned you can't really go wrong with tequilla. Cointreau, on the other hand, is something I've never really developed a taste for. I remember going on a class trip to the Cointreau factory when I was about 12 on the French exchange and buying a bottle of it for my dad and, until it was time for this recipe, that was the only bottle of the stuff I ever bought.
As with most drink recipes, this one's quite simple - mix and pour.
It does do a salt and sugar mix to put on the rims of the glasses which was quite fun to do. Having never really worked behind a bar I'd never really done this before so now I can check off one more new task.
We were hoping to enjoy these cocktails on a nice sunny evening on our balcony. Unfortunately, while it was nice and sunny, I can't say we were really enjoying these drinks. They were far too strong for us. So strong that they were very hard to drink and Soph actually gave up on hers after about 5 or so sips. I persevered, adding more blood orange juice after every gulp and eventually I got a drink I could enjoy - but this took a fair while. The mix of ingredients itself was very nice and we would probably do it again but I'd say we'd probably double the amount of juice in it and half the amount of alcohol. Although perhaps instead I'll give this bottle of Cointreau to my dad aswell since he liked the last one.
